A recently extended 300 year old hillside cottage with fabulous views to Bardsey Island, the Gwylan Islands and across to the Wicklow mountains of Ireland on a clear day. Standing in around two acres of grazing land and wild garden with ample playing space for children. The cottage is on the fringe of the hamlet of Rhiw and is a short drive down to seaside Aberdaron with a choice of two pubs, cafes, shops and stretch of lovely sandy beach. Aberdaron was the village that provided the last refuge for medieval pilgrims before their hazardous crossing to Ynys Enlli (Bardsey). All the attractions of the Lleyn are within a short drive with excellent beaches at Abersoch, Hell’s Mouth, Bwlch Tocyn, Whistling Sands, Nefyn and Morfa Nefyn. The cottage stands on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is ideally located for walkers to traipse the lanes and footpaths of idyllic Lleyn and for people who enjoy cooking. ACCOMMODATION: There are two bedrooms. (1) a
ground floor double with en suite shower/w.c. with large step-in shower
cubicle. (2) A twin room with two additional twin beds in the gallery area
above accessed via steps. A travel cot is provided. Bathroom/.w.c with wet
room shower. New kitchen/dining room with farmhouse kitchen table,
exceptional uninterrupted views, Rangemaster torledo cooker, microwave, fridge,
dishwasher and washer-drier. Lounge with original open fire, digital TV with
DVD and
Freeview channels, and gallery area above with a double bed (access via
steps). The cottage has some storage heaters as well as the open fire and is
available all year. Outside table and six chairs provided. BBQ. Ample parking. The fee includes electricity and an initial supply of
fuel. Bed linen can be provided extra by prior arrangement. Off-season weekends available. Reduced rates for
couples and smaller parties available off-season by negotiation. |
